Terms of Service

Last updated 29 September 2026

The rules for using DisForums, whether you’re browsing a server’s forums or you added the bot to your own server.

The short version

This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.

1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and [Operator name] (“we”, “us”) about using DisForums. By signing in, adding the bot to a server, or otherwise using DisForums, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you use DisForums for an organisation, you confirm you can agree on its behalf.

2. What DisForums does

DisForums lets members of a Discord server browse, search and filter that server’s forum channels on the web. It reads content through Discord’s API and only shows it to people who can already see it in Discord and have been given access by the server’s admins.

3. Discord

DisForums is an independent service, not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord Inc. You must follow Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines when using DisForums. Because we depend on Discord, changes Discord makes to its platform or API may affect or interrupt DisForums.

4. Your account

You sign in with your Discord account, and you must be old enough to use Discord where you live. You’re responsible for activity under your account, so keep your Discord account secure. What you can see follows your Discord roles and permissions; losing access in Discord loses it here too.

5. If you add DisForums to a server

By adding the bot or changing a server’s settings, you confirm that:

  • you have authority to do so for that server;
  • the server’s members may have its enabled forums indexed and shown to the roles you choose, and you’ll tell them if your server’s rules call for it;
  • you’re responsible for your server’s content and moderation, and for the access settings you choose.

You can disable forums or remove the bot at any time. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to indexed data.

6. Acceptable use

Don’t use DisForums to:

  • get at content you aren’t allowed to see, or get around permissions, limits or security;
  • scrape, bulk-download or resell content, except through features we offer;
  • overload or disrupt the service, Discord, or other people’s use of either;
  • harass people, or break the law or anyone’s rights;
  • copy, reverse engineer or build a competing service from DisForums, except where the law allows it.

7. Content

Posts belong to the people who wrote them, and remain subject to Discord’s terms. You allow us to copy, store, process and display content from enabled forums only as needed to run DisForums for that server’s permitted members. We don’t claim ownership of it. If you think content shown through DisForums infringes your rights, report it in Discord and to us at [contact email].

DisForums is free today. When paid plans are available:

  • prices, what’s included and the billing period are shown before you buy;
  • payments are handled by our payment provider or by Discord, whose terms also apply;
  • subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel any time to stop the next renewal;
  • refunds follow the payment provider’s policy and your rights under consumer law;
  • we’ll give you notice before a price change affects your renewal.

9. Changes and availability

We’re always improving DisForums, so features may change, be added or be removed. We aim to keep it running smoothly but can’t promise it will always be available, fast or free of errors.

10. Suspension and ending

You can stop using DisForums at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk, and we may stop offering DisForums with reasonable notice. Anything that by its nature should continue after that, such as ownership and limits of liability, still applies.

11. Disclaimers

DisForums is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and that content is accurate or complete. Content comes from Discord and its users; we don’t check or endorse it.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim about DisForums is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$10. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and give advance notice through the site or Discord for significant changes. Using DisForums after they take effect means you accept them.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Country], and its courts can hear disputes about them. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live.

15. Contact
